  • On 16–17 April 2026, SCC Crew Manning Co., Ltd. — SCCM organized a specialized RightShip Seminar at the SCCM Representative Office in Hai Phong.

    The seminar was conducted following the successful RightShip assessment of M/V HD SUN in March 2026. Its purpose was to systematize and share practical experience with seafarers who are scheduled to join vessels and those who will be involved in upcoming RightShip assessments in the coming months.

    The seminar materials provided an overview of RightShip, the Safety Score system, inspection focus areas under the People – Process – Plant model, inspection preparation, RCA/CAP requirements, inspection validity criteria, and key contents of RISQ v3.2. A key message emphasized throughout the seminar was that RightShip does not assess only a single inspection day; rather, it evaluates the vessel’s overall operational system, including SMS implementation, crew competency, equipment maintenance, PSC history, incidents, deficiencies, and the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.

    Through this seminar, SCCM aimed to:

    • Help seafarers better understand RightShip requirements and standards;
    • Improve awareness of the Safety Score system and inspection performance;
    • Reduce PSC and RightShip deficiencies;
    • Strengthen preparation of documentation, onboard conditions, and objective evidence;
    • Promote a stronger onboard safety culture;
    • Share practical lessons learned from a vessel that had recently undergone RightShip assessment.

    With a long-term commitment to sustainable development, SCCM will continue working closely with shipowners and partners to enhance the quality of Vietnamese seafarers and meet increasingly demanding international standards for safety, compliance, and operational performance.

    In 2026, SCCM remains focused on training, competency standardization, and continuous improvement of seafarer quality — working together with partners to enhance maritime transport quality.
